Senior pictures
It is that time again ... time for senior pictures!
My first senior of the year was my daughter!!! I am so proud of the beautiful and intelligent young lady she has become - in spite of me. I just know she's going to have a great senior year!
Here are a few pics from our session....

Yeah ... even had the fan blowing :)

Seriously ... how cute is she??? I know I know ... but I'm crazy about her and can't help myself!

Congratulations Brittany and here's to a fabulous senior year!!

I had a great time with this next couple at their engagement shoot. Kelly and Brett are getting married this August and I already know the ceremony will be amazing! These two are absolutely perfect together. I told Kelly that she and Brett just 'go together'.
Here are a few shots from our time together.

As I have mentioned before, it is so cool to me when my couples 'forget that I'm there' (as in this next photo). This never happens, by the way, in the begininning of our sessions. It almost always happens toward the very end. Since this is the type of shot that I strive for, I am always elated when it actually happens! Just beautiful.

I love the lines in this last photo. I love that they are off to the side of the photo and the way the railing leads right to them. I love that her feet and hands created the same 'V'.

Can't wait for your upcoming wedding!

I know I have been a terrible blogger lately. And just so that all of you know ... it really does bother me when I don't update it weekly.

I had the honor of photographing a wedding in Boston for the most sought after wedding date of 2007. Actually we were in the quaint little town of Cambridge for the wedding and reception.

This wedding was a beautiful mix of cultures. The groom was from New Zealand and the bride from the states.

There were a ton of shots that I loved from this wedding, but unfortunately, I can't put them all up on Blogger. So, make sure you check out the slideshow at the end of this post for a look at a lot more images!

Anne's dress was absolutely gorgeous!

Here is Anne, looking STUNNING!

And her beau looking quite dashing!

and a few shots of the two of them ...

Their ceremony and reception were filled with traditions and ceremonies from both cultures...

I love how the rabbi had everyone attending the ceremony come up to the chupah and become an integrated part of the marriage. He talked about how a successful marriage is one that involves, not only the couple, but everyone who is a part of the couple's lives. He mentioned how important it is was to have friends and family as a support structure.

and no Jewish ceremony is complete without dancing the horah and the chair dance!

I believe this is called the 'haka'. Used to ward off evil spirits in New Zealand tradition, if I remember correctly. Let me tell you, it was pretty scary stuff.

As I mentioned, I could have put up easily a hundred photos from their wedding weekend ... but then my whole blog would have only had one wedding on it!

So, be sure to click SLIDESHOW to see more!

This wedding was one of the VERY few that I shot by myself (except for the ceremony ... my wonderful husband helped out with that! So a big thank you to him).

Anne and Michael ...

I wish you a lifetime of happiness and thank you again for trusting me with such a special day!

Someone asked me the other day what my favorite part of shooting a wedding was (Karen U ... that's you). I answered the question with some thoughts on all of the importance the day holds and how every detail is thought out, but the more I think about it, the more I think it is the people and all of the wonderful emotions that surround such a beautiful day.
It may sound a bit cliché, but I truly believe that I have the best clients in the world. Seeing them on their wedding day, so full of joy and so absolutely in love is like a drug for me and, hence, totally addictive.
All of this goes along with loving what you do. I started talking about this with some of my friends the other day …. And some interesting answers came from this question:
What would you do for a living if you could do something you loved?
Ask someone you are very close to. Their answer might surprise you. It surprised me. A lot of times, it doesn’t have to do with money or fame. It has to do with what truly makes us whole on the inside.
Just some thoughts that were clamoring around in my brain today.
And you all know I love to share :)

I know I haven't been blogging as often as I should lately. I will try to do better. It has been crazy busy here with all of the weddings!
This couple is a wonderful couple who is getting married next weekend! He owns a great little deli/restaurant in downtown Cincinnati called Silverglades. If you haven't been, you really should head over for a sandwich sometime.
You'd be hard pressed to find a couple with more heart than these two and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding day!

In front of their restaurant on 8th St.

I love this shot of the two of them ...

I will get some pictures up very soon from my Boston 07-07-07 wedding!

Bahamas!!!
A wonderful couple hired me to photograph their wedding in the Bahamas a week and a half ago. What a beautiful place. They were so welcoming and amazing to work with that it hardly felt like a job. I could totally see myself just hanging out with these two!
I just want everyone to know that I could have easily posted a hundred photos from their wedding/trip, but I have to narrow it down for Blogger.
Here are just a few from their big Bahama wedding.

Seriously, does it get any better than this???

I'm not sure they even know that I am still here ... it relaxes me just to look at the two of them floating in the water ...

So, they started out their big day by taking a banana boat ride....

and enjoying a few frozen drinks ....

Aneesa has the best laugh and contagious smile ... love this shot.

Again, like I tell everyone ... I shoot a lot of photos. Sometimes they are only seconds apart. Sure, I captured the actual kiss, but sometimes it is the moments just before or just after that are the best. Such is true in this case. What a great emotion captured. Total and complete happiness...

A quick shoot after the wedding ... just the two of them.

And probably one of my favorite photos of all time. I DO believe that you can FEEL a photograph. Such a wonderful quiet, intimate moment. What I wouldn't give to have photos of my husband and I like this.

Love these last two as well. Now I know Anthony wouldn't want me to do this ... but I could photograph these two all day long. I love it when I 'cease to exist' with my couples and they just ENJOY each other.

My last photo of the day is my photo of a .... can you see what it is? I saw this as I was walking by the coffee mugs at their reception and it .... just made me smile.

Aneesa and Anthony, I wish you both a lifetime of happines. You two are such an amazing couple. Congratulations to you both!

A HUGE THANK YOU to Barb and Karen. Barb took time out of her vacation to photograph the wedding day with me and Karen helped me out at the reception! You guys are GREAT!!!
