Weblog Entry 3.31.2006

For anyone who is interested, I have put a new section on my website for proofs. It is accessible from the main page. I only have the one engagement shoot out there for now… but more to come.

I am so ready for this vacation! I am looking forward to taking pictures on my own just for fun. Hopefully my family and friends can put up with me :)
I will try and post some pics here through the week, but I will be working mostly on a laptop while I'm there and I, personally, hate laptops, so I don’t want to promise anything.

I saw an ad on TV last night for Texas – you know, one of those ‘Everything’s bigger in Texas! So come vacation with us.’ – I said ‘ Hey! That’s where we’re going!!!’
I truly can’t wait. I don’t get to see these friends but once a year – if that.

And I miss them terribly.

I had the pleasure of photographing Jamie and Ryan's engagement session on Saturday. We went out to Miami University's Kumler Chapel and wandered the grounds. That campus is a photographer's dream and we had the nicest weather we've seen in a couple of weeks. Their wedding is coming up this August and I cannot wait for it! Jamie is such a fun girl and will make a beautiful bride.

I went out yesterday and took some photos of Alyssa and her boyfriend, Travis. I had a lot of fun. These are just a couple of my favorites. I will post more on my website sometime this weekend.

I must not have gotten enough sleep last night because today I was a bit out of sorts. I got home and decided that to improve my mood, I would take a few pictures from Sunday morning at our house and play with them in PS. So, I did. This is what I came up with:

My daughter was home this weekend. I think she spent the entire weekend scrapbooking. She is working on her San Francisco trip in these shots.

It rained the entire weekend so we didn't get a chance to go out and do any photography. I'm not too upset about it. I'll have plenty of time to take pictures on vacation :)

I now have a door to my studio!

The ceiling of the basement is also almost finished - hopefully by the end of the week we will be ready for electric and plumbing. I have been busy picking out wall colors already.

I don't have a good excuse for not 'blogging' this week. So, I'm not going to insult anyone by giving you a bad one.

(Is 'blogging' even a verb? Can you 'blog'? And what does it look like when you do? Interesting concept.)

Anyway, there hasn't been a whole lot going on in my world this week. I am going to post some new pictures of the basement before this weekend. It is coming along. I am trying to keep from brimming over with excitement about my new studio!

I am meeting with someone to talk about marketing my business tonight. She's the smart one with the marketing degree! She is so much fun anyway that it is a guaranteed good time.
