Brittany and Jacob
First of all, I have NEVER laughed as much as I did with these two at an engagement shoot! I can honestly say that there will be a lot of laughter in their household. Such a fun couple.

This is the very spot where they got engaged...(their very own picnic table at Devou)

I just love Brittany's laugh. I love that there is no holding back. It is the best thing ever and it makes me smile just looking at their photos.

I loved their 'headless shot' ... I like the symmetry of it.

Congratultaions on your engagement! I am totally pumped about photographing your reception. Have a fantastic wedding in Gatlinburg! I can't wait to hear all about it!

Alyssa
So we had the family over for a get-together this past weekend and I got to play. Alyssa never minds me take her photo so I tried out some different lighting in the studio.
Loved the results...

Karen and Mike

Karen really wanted her engagement photos to have a 'country feel' to them. She found this wonderful place out in KY to shoot and I think she got exactly what she was looking for! What a great place to photograph.

And, can I just say, I LOVE the cowboy hat???

Some great light ...

I am still not tired of the 'walking' shot. Especially when you throw a kiss in the mix ... We had some gorgeous warm light throughout the entire shoot.

Love Mike's smile ...

What a great shoot. I can't wait for the wedding!

Congratulations on your engagement!!

Tina and Ryan
For Tina and Ryan's shoot, we had some questionable weather. It kind of 'misted' during our shoot, but that didn't stop us from getting some great images of their engagement!

I love this next shot. Love the way Tina is smiling at Ryan and love the way he is looking down at her. I don't think it gets much better than that.

A great backdrop ...

Another great backdrop for a gorgeous couple!

You know ... even though we shot at Miami (where I have shot before), their pictures look so different from the last shoot. This is one of the things I love about being outdoors.

Tina and Ryan, I had a great time with you two ... CONGRATS on the engagement and I am looking forward to the wedding!

Ten random things about me:

1. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love that this holiday is all about food, family, football and to top it all off a big Thanksgiving Day Parade. I can't wait to get started!

2. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I never skip it.

3. I would rather see 'truth' in my photographs than a fake smile.

4. My desk is almost always messy. To counter that, the rest of my house is almost always neat. There is a great saying "A messy desk is the sign of a creative mind at work."

5. I hate matching socks when they come out of the dryer ... but I love doing laundry

6. I think everyone should own one piece of original art and have it displayed in their home.

7. Email is one of life's greatest inventions. My friends and family know that I have never been much of a 'letter writer', but email .. now there's something I can keep up with!

8. After buying a great new pair of shoes, I have been known to wear them to bed.

9. If I could have one splurge in life and money was no object, it would be a toss up between a weekly massage and someone to clean my house once a week.

10. I'm a hugger. It is such a meaningful gesture that is almost always appropriate. Hug someone you care about today. Big squeeze.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday. Spend some time with your family, enjoy some great food and make sure you carve yourself out some space on a sofa to stretch out after lunch/dinner for a nice nap!

In light of the holiday, I'll be blogging every day through the weekend.

Family
I had the opportunity to work with a wonderful family in October. The parents have known my husband since high school! So, it was a real treat spending time with them!
Their three children are absolutely adorable! Here are a few photos from our time:

Great family photo ...

I thought these photos needed to be in a sequence to show the personalities of the kids. I love it! I love that each of them is so different ...

Thank you for a great session and for allowing me to photograph your family!

Note to clients:
Before we look at any pics for today, I would like to let everyone know that I am not accepting any new portrait sessions for this year. If you would like to book a portrait session with me, we will need to schedule it after the 1st of the year. I am still booking engagement sessions for my wedding clients. If you have already contacted me about a session, but we haven't 'booked' it yet, consider yourself 'in'.
Now onto pictures ...
One of my favorite clients ....
I am sure all of you recognize these two girls from lots of sessions with me .... they are as cute as ever. Here are a few pictures from their most recent session:
First we have Jordan - I love the asymmetry of this shot.

Miss Carly

And the newest addition 'Baby Ty' .... this little guy is already a 'rocker'! He's got the hair and everything!

I know what you're going to say ... but this next pictures just makes me laugh ... I had to put it up!

LOVE this next one....

Pittsburgh or Green Bay???? This family is definitely split right down the middle when it comes to football!!

This is a motorcycle family if there ever was one ... so I had to take a photo of the 'boys' on the bike ...

It just doesn't get any better than this! Their family photo is so 'them'! And isn't everything better with a Harley???

I can't wait to order your big print of this for the family room! Thank you for being one of my best clients and trusting me with your family photos!
