Last web entry for the year

Last blog post ....(for now)
I am currently working on a new blog for 2008. So this will be my last post on this blog. I will be sure to link to this blog from my new one.
I will leave you with a few words from Hannibal Burress. As most of you know, my husband is a fireman and this video is hilarious:
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and a happy New Year. I, personally am looking forward to another great year in 2008!

Weblog Entry 12.08.07 continued

PLEASE READ:
Our studio will be CLOSED from 12/8 - 12/16
Please email me from my site if you need anything. All emails will be answered on Monday and/or Tuesday of the returning week.
I have been booking weddings left and right the last 2 weeks. So, for anyone interested in using me for their wedding day, but have not set up a meeting, please contact me as soon as possible as I only take a limited number of weddings each year and I am getting very close to that number.
Since I will be away ... I leave you with two posts ....
First, we have ...
Sarah
When Sarah hired me for her senior pictures, I just knew we were going to get along great! She totally 'got me'. I always like to explain to my seniors that I work a little differently than other studios that they may have seen pictures from or that their friends may have used. I do not use a lot of props and I definitely do not do 'neon' lights shining in some sort of pattern on the backdrop. Oh ... and I should also throw in that I do not have any of those lifesize numbers in the school year for them to lean on while getting photographed. Once we get all of that out of the way, I tell them that I like to try and capture WHO THEY ARE.
Again, I don't ask for fake smiles ... I just ask that they be real with me.

Sarah, I hope you have a fantastic senior year! I really enjoyed working with you and I wish you the best!

More posts to come when I return to work! (Oh yeah .... I still have more to post)

Madeline
Little Madeline had the biggest most beautiful eyes! And she was so interested in what I was doing ... watched me the whole time. I think she could hear the camera focusing and it got her attention every time.
Here are just few from our session...

Love the little belly button!

I got to photograph Madeline in the womb so it was wonderful to get to finally meet her!! She is such a beautiful baby with a very calm disposition.

Congratulations on the new little one!

Family

I love that my sister asks me every year to do family photographs for her. I also love that when I go over to her house, photos that I have taken adorn the walls and bookshelves.

Here are a few from this year's session ...

My niece is the next 'budding photographer' of the family ... she always asks to use my camera when we get together. And to top it all off, she has an amazing eye. When I let her loose with the camera, her composition is wonderful. Here we are having a 'shoot off'.

I just love my family!!!

Elliot
I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph this little guy again. He has to be one of the most patient babies I have ever worked with. He has the best disposition.

Here are a few pics from our time ...

This next one ... makes me laugh ... he and the moose look like 'bookends' ...

Elliot was FASCINATED with the camera .... he would sit there for a couple of pictures and then crawl over to where I was laying on the floor taking his picture and stare at the camera. Here is a photo of him headed my way!

Love this photo in his little baseball outfit.

Mom wanted a couple of pictures in his Halloween costume ...

This next costume is one that I bought awhile ago ... I thought I might want to use it on a baby shoot, but have never had a child who was big enough or patient enough to do an extra wardrobe change .... enter Elliot! He was so cute in this lion costume that his mom and I were in tears from laughing so hard. It still makes me chuckle just looking at it!

I had such a good time with you two! I can't wait for our next session already - urban baby, here we come!

Riley and Will
I realize that this session was done in October ... YES, I am still finishing up blogging my sessions from October :)
I had a great time with these two. First we have a few pics of Miss Riley. Talk about a HAM! She loved getting her picture taken. And I love that she loved getting her picture taken. She was such a joy to work with.
Here she is sporting her Bengal colors ...

Will didn't get quite as much camera time as his sister, but I do love his eyes in this photo ...

A pic with one of Daddy's fire helmets on ...

Thank you for such a fun session!

Brittany and Jacob
First of all, I have NEVER laughed as much as I did with these two at an engagement shoot! I can honestly say that there will be a lot of laughter in their household. Such a fun couple.

This is the very spot where they got engaged...(their very own picnic table at Devou)

I just love Brittany's laugh. I love that there is no holding back. It is the best thing ever and it makes me smile just looking at their photos.

I loved their 'headless shot' ... I like the symmetry of it.

Congratultaions on your engagement! I am totally pumped about photographing your reception. Have a fantastic wedding in Gatlinburg! I can't wait to hear all about it!

Alyssa
So we had the family over for a get-together this past weekend and I got to play. Alyssa never minds me take her photo so I tried out some different lighting in the studio.
Loved the results...
